Sistas With A Ph.D. was officially granted the Internal Revenue Service approval for non-profit status 501 (C)(3) in 2020.

Meet the first African-American woman to earn a Ph.D. in Economics. In 1921, Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, becoming the first Black woman in America to earn a Ph.D. in Economics. She was a Francis Sergeant Pepper Fellow and had already earned her master’s degree from the same institution. Click here to learn more!


Tea for Two

S.W.A.P brought together a vibrant and diverse community for a day of fellowship, mentoring, and empowerment. Held in a beautifully decorated venue, the gathering featured attendees adorned in elegant hats and chic attire, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The event highlighted the core values of S.W.A.P: Mentoring, Education, and Family!

Throughout the day, participants engaged in meaningful conversations, shared personal stories, and built connections. The event also included inspiring speeches from prominent figures who underscored the importance of community support and mentorship. Additionally, the presence of young people and families emphasized the multigenerational impact of the organization’s mission.

The Tea for Two event was not only a celebration of sisterhood but also a platform for fostering growth and education. It served as a reminder of the strength found in unity and the importance of uplifting one another in our collective journeys. The gathering concluded with group photos, capturing the essence of the day and the bonds formed among the attendees.

In every way, Tea for Two was a testament to the enduring power of community and the positive change that can be achieved when individuals come together with a shared purpose.
